The collar threads over the air cap and clamps it to the front of the gun. It is also the part you loosen to rotate the air cap when you want to flip the fan between horizontal and vertical, then tighten again to lock it there. Replace it if the threads gall or the cap will no longer hold its position. Included in the 5262 Rebuild Kit.
